The staff does not receive in the partners' absence; and our stock can be only partly arrayed in browsable sections.  So if there are particular things or even kinds of things you will wish to see, we'll need to pull them for you the day before your visit.  Also, of course, we'll want to be sure that the right PRB&M'er — the one who knows the most about your kinds of books! — is here and free to attend you. It's furthermore a fact that RIGHT NOW we are still in the aftermath of our sad fire.  We are in temporary quarters, a few buildings away from our usual digs, and things therefore require just that little bit more managing. “Just looking around” isALAS!         BUT ALSO DECIDEDLY! impracticable.
