In addition to the two different bindings depicted by the exterior covers here, there are four additional sample covers included within the volume, most of which are cloth stamped in bright colors, with one having a printed paper overlay. The illustrations include a number of chromolithographs among the profusion of plates; also present are pages printed in green and red. The blank leaves for subscribers’information are untouched and unused, as are the sample coloring-book pages.
This particular assemblage not listed in Arbour; listings similar to individual items herein are described at a237, a415, and a706. One book’s sample bindings (Polite Manners): One cover of blue cloth, stamped in black and red, with a photographic vignette of a young lady in a beret; spine and other cover of grey-green cloth, stamped in blue and gilt, with a chromolithographic vignette.
