
Old calf, front cover gilt-lettered; leather dry, somewhat chipped (half that of bottom spine compartment, gone), and gone to red, with the volume somewhat fragile. Rich blue hand-patterned endpapers; endpapers waterstained. Inked ownership inscription on verso of front free endpaper. Occasional staining and soiling, most noticeable on the first few leaves. Shallow dog-earing. Leaf between pp. 136 and 137 with a closed tear along the fold. All edges marbled, though rubbed.
