Binding: Contemporary silk and metallic thread embroidery worked on a canvas background, with one cover depicting a bird and the other a merperson playing a stringed instrument. All page edges gilt and gauffered.
N.T.: Herbert 372; Darlow & Moule 288; ESTC S90994; STC (2nd ed.) 2920. Psalms: ESTC S90736; STC (2nd ed.) 2570. Binding as above, now housed in a custom-created clamshell case, spine with gilt-stamped leather title-label; colors dimmed and some stitches now absent on both covers, one cover with portions of metallic couching lost, one spine more worn than the other. Page edge gauffering causing some leaves to stick closely together.
A small gem, now a bit faded but still a lovely and highly desirable item.
